Beach Vacation

We wanted to take one last vacation as a family of three and since our sweet Addison will be here soon, we took a long weekend and headed down to the beach in Florida.  Levi had never seen the beach and we thought he would like it - and he did!  He was far more interested in the sand than he was in the ocean, but he was completely entertained for four days playing with his buckets and shovel on the beach.  He also loved the hotel pool, which is where we spent each afternoon.

We didn't waste any time getting to the beach when we arrived at the hotel - we dropped our bags off in the room and Levi rode the luggage cart back down in his beach gear:

And here he is, moments later, digging into the sand:
Levi woke Ryan and I up each morning before 7 (one morning at 5am!) asking if the sun was awake yet.  Then, if the sun was "awake", he would begin chanting "beach, beach, beach".  We were among the first people to the beach each morning (note the lack of other people around us in the pictures below), which was usually the coolest, nicest part of the day anyway, so it worked out alright.
Levi had lots of fun in the sand with Daddy:

They made a race car for Levi to drive:

And a dug a big hole to sit in:

Here's a family pic:

Ryan buried in the sand - Levi was quite proud of himself!

And if you are wondering what a 7+ month pregnant lady does on the beach all day - here I am, relaxing under my umbrella:

And here are my two boys relaxing with me:

As I mentioned, we spent some time each afternoon at the pool and Levi had a blast jumping to Daddy over and over (and over and over) again:

And one day, when Levi decided he didn't want to take a nap, we headed to the St. Petersburg Pier to look around and get out of the sun for a little while.  We found a small aquarium to explore and some great views of Tampa Bay:

Here's the view that we had from the balcony in our hotel room - it was beautiful!  And, we faced west, so we got to sit and watch the sun set each night.  We feel very blessed to have been able to take such a great vacation before our lives get a little more chaotic!
